A volcanic eruption in Iceland sends a glacier towards North America, causing everything in it's path to freeze. A family man struggles to escape the onslaught of the coming ice age. So, a huge eruption in Iceland sends a high speed monster glacier towards the States at 200mph. Trouble is, from the moment the first character speaks you really don't care.<br/><br/>Of course, the science is laughable. Normally, though, you can ignore this and enjoy the action. Not here, though, as the standard of the acting is the poorest I have ever seen (even for The Asylum).<br/><br/>An Indian scientist stands beside his helicopter (which magically morphs into a larger aircraft for exterior shots) while the whole of Iceland erupts.<br/><br/>Later on, US fighter jets show amazing ability to morph into other aircraft types. Shame the pilots don't seem to have any radar - or maybe it was because the AWACS contolling them had the same cockpit as the helicopter in the first scene. Still, the supersonic cargo helos that were flying in formation with the jets in the attack scene were very impressive.<br/><br/>Still, perhaps I am hung up on the details.<br/><br/>Maybe, but then why was the 17 year old son clearly reading lines intended for a 5 or 6 year old. The only even vaguely decent actor who managed to make any realistic-sounding dialogue was the extra playing the lone National Guard officer in New York.<br/><br/>Dreadful. I hope that the actors were paid well for what could well be a career-ending production. This is without doubt the worst of the worst films ever. I have never laughed so much, my eyes were streaming with laughter tears all the way through it.<br/><br/>When the big 6'6" guy full of muscles tried mugging the 5'0" skinny runt guy for his coat I just fell to pieces with laughter, what was he going to do, blow his nose with it.<br/><br/>To be honest I think the director has hit on a great format for future entertaining films, it was so bad I couldn't stop watching it. I didn't think it was possible to act that bad, the actors are either amazingly brilliant or absolutely the worst ever, it is quite hard to make up my mind which.<br/><br/>I thoroughly recommend this film to anyone that has a good sense of humour and is in need of a really good laugh.<br/><br/>It is without doubt the most entertaining film I have seen in a long time but not for all the reasons that the director would have hoped.
